Everything about the Overlake Christian Church in Redmond, Washington, is big, and this huge project helped AJ Seattle reach record profitability in 1997. The church’s sanctuary shown here, seats 5,500 people in 30,000 square feet of space. Its three-story high hard GWB ceiling is sloped, wrapped, tapered, and otherwise configured. AJ Seattle installed more than 700,000 square feet of GWB in this project, along with lath and cement plaster and fireproofing.This 250,000 square foot church building houses a congregation of 8,500, has a parking lot for 3,000 cars plus a tram system to the church, and was constructed in about 14 months at a total cost of $37,000,000. |
